Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force will be heading out on his first national headlining tour in 3 years when he brings the Attack!! Tour across the U.S. beginning in March. The tour kicks off March 3 in New Orleans. George Lynch joins the tour in Houston on March 5.
Yngwie and company will be touring in support of his latest release, Attack!!, which was released January 13, 2004 on Epic/Red Ink.
More an orchestral composer than a metal axe-man, Yngwie Malmsteen released his first album, Rising Force, almost 20 years ago. Grammy-nominated in 1984 for Best Rock Instrumental Performance, the album also earned Yngwie Best New Talent and Best Rock Guitarist from Guitar Player Magazine.
Twenty albums into his career, we find Yngwie still reinventing his instrument and sound with Attack!! Self-produced by Yngwie in his Miami studio, Attack!! features Doug White on vocals, Derek Sherinian on keyboards and Patrick Johansson on drums. The U.S. release features 2 bonus tracks, the new instrumental Battlefield as well as ’dreaming, recorded live during the European Attack!! Tour. The touring band will include Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy/Whitesnake) on bass and Joekim Svalberg on keyboards.
Yngwie’s live show is one that needs to be witnessed to be believed. His animated playing style is only surpassed by the unconventional sounds that exude from his white stratocaster. When Yngwie takes the stage, he literally TAKES THE STAGE. An Yngwie Malmsteen show is a concert, a circus and an electrocution all rolled into one.
Yngwie just completed the successful G3 Tour with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai and is anxious to showcase his full set each night. Well, here is where it all started in the USA, where I got my first break, says Yngwie. We will be ready to unleash the FURY. Do you know what time it is??? It’s time to ROCK!
Former Dokken guitarist George Lynch and his solo band have been officially confirmed as the support act for select dates on Yngwie’s upcoming U.S. tour. Joining Lynch in his group will be singer Kelly Keeling (Baton Rouge, Blue Murder, MSG, Guitar Zeus, John Norum) and drummer Jeff Martin (Racer X vocalist).

I’ve heard that Yngwie is an asshole. – said Child of the Light on Feb 02, 2004
looks like he getting fat? is burger king on the tour. – said PAUZED on Mar 03, 2004
On the G3 DVD, you can really see him a bit bigger, but the recent picture at the Walk Of Fame for Randy, he looks like he has lost some since the G3 filming. I am going on April 1 to see Geroge Lynch and will stick around to see Yngwie and see how he looks then too. – said theloudestrock on Mar 03, 2004
ya in the piks from the rok n roll hall of fame he looked a littled chunky.. but since your going to go see him you can let me know and see if his playing has got better or worse also. – said PAUZED on Mar 03, 2004
