Slayer used the raining blood effect last July in Augusta, ME while filming their brand-new DVD, Still Reigning. The Dean Karr-directed DVD opens with the band’s 1986, 28-minute benchmark album Reign In Blood performed live in its entirety by Slayer’s original line-up – Tom Araya (vocals, bass), guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, and drummer Dave Lombardo. Still Reigning has a running time of more than 80-minutes and offers bonus material including live performances of Slayer classics such as War Ensemble, Hallowed Point, Necrophobic, Mandatory Suicide, Spill The Blood, Hell Awaits, and South of Heaven, as well as exclusive interviews and backstage footage.
Everyone who posts comments about their favorite Slayer song or concert is eligible to win a FREE copy of Still Reigning. Multiple winners will be selected. All ZRock registered members are eligible.

I wasn’t really into Slayer until Seasons in the Abyss came out in 91. I heard the title track on Z-Rock and really liked it. That turned me on to some of there older stuff (Reign in Blood, South of Heaven). I purchased the Decade of Aggression double live CD when it came out and listened the hell out of that. War Ensemble is my fave Slayer tune, with ’dead Skin Mask a close second. Cheers. BUG – said notoriusbug on Nov 11, 2004
First Slayer show I caught was in Cleveland at the Agora early on the tour for Reign in Blood. Fantastic show, when they were just making it into the larger venues. The pit was incredible. A DJ for a local college radio station made a bootleg tape of the show and broadcast it a few nights later. I still have a copy, although the sound quality is awful. Listening to the intro for Necrophiliac, when Tom talks about crunching maggots, still brings back memories of a fantastic show. Steve – said risser on Nov 11, 2004
SLAYER ROCKS ❗ 😈 It’s nice to have Dave back behind the kit. Dave’s drumming is the best. Great double bass, great beats, Fu*k it Dave is the man! I heard this DVD is the best DVD out there. I’ve seen SLAYER 4 times now and every time I see them, they tear it up. I remember the first time I seen them here in Omaha, Nebraska. It was the CLASH OF THE TITANS, with Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, & Alice In Chains. Wow what a show! Favorite SLAYER songs, Reign in Blood (GIMMIE) South of Heaven Silent Scream Chemical Warfare Die By The Sword War Ensemble Mandatory Suicide Angel Of Death Im babbling, all slayer songs our great. SLAYER KICK ASS! I guess my best Slayer memory was back in 86, at the Maceba Theater in downtown Houston, Tx. This place was a old movie house with the old fold up cushion seats. It was Raven, Slayer, WASP in that order. Raven played. Eh OK. Slayer tore the place up. They had the upside down cross lights. After they played the whole placed was yelling SLAYER, SLAYER, SLAYER. When WASP came on the crowd was still yelling for Slayer for at least 2 songs. One more great memory is the last time they played the Verizion, the whole floor went into a circle pit on Riegn In Blood. That was awesome! – said Xforce70 on Nov 11, 2004
my first memories of slayer was hearing angel of death on z-rock in 1986 in chicago… .. i used to annoy the neighbors whenever that song came on… and ever since then, I’ve been into slayer.. great band, classic album( reign in blood), and great memories… .. stay heavy… – said jadedheart85 on Nov 11, 2004

What else can I say, totally brutal live and Seasons is still one of my 10 favorite CD’s of all time. Slayer and Testament touring together in 91 was one of the heaviest tours EVER! Look up heavy in the dictionary… you ll find Slayer there. Paine – said CrazyMikePaine on Dec 12, 2004

NEVER GOT TO GO SEE THEM LIVE. STILL KINDA PISSED ABOUT THAT. I DID MEET TOM ARAYA AT WORK ONE DAY. HE AND MAD MAX WERE HIGH AS KITES AND FIXIN TO DO THE Z ROCK 50 THAT WAY. IT WAS MAX’s WAY OF FLIPPIN HIS MIDDLE FINGER AT MANAGEMENT. HE BROUGHT TOM IN ON HIS OWN WITHOUT PRIOR CONSENT FROM THE MANAGEMENT..IT WAS FUN TO LISTEN TO. EVEN THOUGH I KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE TROUBLE FOR MAX. IT WAS A GREAT MOVE. REBELIOUS AND BALLZY. SOMEONE HAS TO WRITE A BOOK ON ALL THE SHIT THAT WENT ON THERE.
