Velvet Revolver’s debut album Contraband enters the charts in the top slot on The Billboard 200. In its first week, the rock supergroup’s RCA set sold 256,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Velvet Revolver hits Austin, Houston, and Dallas this week for three sold out shows.
UPDATE: Velvet Revolver Postpone Austin Show
VELVET REVOLVER has been forced to postpone tonight’s show in Austin, Texas since lead singer SCOTT WEILAND–who’s currently experiencing throat problems–has been advised by his doctor to give his voice 24 hours rest. Scott developed a secondary infection as a result of taking antibiotics for bronchitis while he continued to sing. According to ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. Joe Sugerman, Because he continued to perform, Scott has developed inflammation of the vocal chords. To avoid damage, he needs 24 hours of voice rest. He ll be reevaluated tomorrow. The date affected is Thursday, June 17 at Stubb’s in Austin, Texas. No information is currently available about the rescheduling of this show which was part of VELVET REVOLVER’s debut American concert tour in connection with their newly released CONTRABAND album (RCA).
Velvet Revolver, originally scheduled to play June 17 at Stubb’s, has been rescheduled for October 29. Your June 17 tickets will be honored at the October 29 show.
