Last night was the first time Motley had two drummers onstage. They were playing Red Deer, Alberta. It’s an agricultural community of about 70,000 people. The boys are playing smaller centers in the Canadian prairies. Tour is officially over next week. Anyway, Tommy has been suffering from tendonitis for quite awhile. Yesterday his doc said to take a break. House of Blues got this kid from Calgary named Harvey to fill in. He plays in a metal tribute band at night and manages a Starbucks during the day. He did a great job. Most of the night Tommy was standing by him, behind some speakers, helping him along. Nikki stated there was no time for a rehearsal so the kid was a little nervous. First set wasn’t great. Tempo was too fast, especially during Livewire. After that song they cut the set short (I guess to calm him down) and the second set was much better. The crowd really got behind Harvey and Tommy let us know how much they appreciated him. Not sure if Tommy will be back in full swing for any of the remaining shows. I’m not surprised that they didn’t cancel or postpone. Give refunds or extend the tour? Not on this tour. I hate these guys. Give my my cash cuz I’m going home!! (I’m assuming that was said at yesterday’s production meeting)! – said DavidJ on Apr 04, 2006
