It’s a great year for rock and roll at ACL Fest with headliners Guns N’ Roses taking the stage in their first Austin appearance in 26 years. What else do you need to hear about this you don’t already know? See you there.
Ever since 2010, when Gary Clark Jr. wowed audiences with electrifying live sets everywhere from the Crossroads Festival to Hollywood’s historic Hotel Café, his modus operandi has remained crystal clear: “I listen to everything…so I want to play everything.” The revelation that is the Austin-born virtuoso guitarist, vocalist and songwriter finds him just as much an amalgamation of his myriad influences and inspirations. We can’t wait to hear his guitar wail thru the Austin night.
Jack White is an art form on his own but we’re excited to see The Raconteurs because it has been a while.
You may not know about Cherry Glazerr, an LA trio that has evolved into a thrill each SXSW. They have transformed their sound, opened for great acts, and become a tour staple that brings something new and unexpected to first-time listeners.
Bones UK – vocalist Rosie Bones, guitarist Carmen Vandenberg, and drummer Heavy – confront everything from the beauty industrial complex to toxic masculinity to music-scene sexism with an entirely uncontainable sound, a riff-heavy collision of rock-and-roll and rough-edged electronic music.
When Carmen from @bonesbandbones saw @Fender's limited edition Stevie Ray Vaughan “Lenny” Stratocaster in @HowardStern's studio, she couldn't help but take a minute to jam on it.

San Francisco’s Third Eye Blind have recorded four best-selling albums and assembled one career retrospective. 3EB recently released the 20th Anniversary edition of their 7 million selling self-titled debut.
We’re also looking forward to Austin locals Otis the Destroyer. From Visit Austin: Since building their reputation as rowdy rock and rollers, Otis the Destroyer is shaking it up with their latest EP “Cool Evil,” featuring shoegaze guitar styling and more laid-back vocals. Check them out if you like Fugazi, Smashing Pumpkins or My Bloody Valentine. Austin rock at its finest!
