The man, the myth, the legend, John Corabi. He’s been part of several bands – including Motley Crüe and Ratt – and now, he’s the lead singer for one of our favorite bands, The Dead Daisies. You’ve probably seen us buzzing about The Dead Daisies upcoming tour and our ticket giveaways.
Corabi was hired as Vince Neil’s replacement, but the match didn’t last for long due to two reasons: The self-titled Motley Crue album didn’t sell as well as expected, and Vince rejoined the band. Although the band parted ways with John, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee stated that Corabi was capable of singing anything and everything and that was the reason they chose him. If that’s not telling of the kind of talent this man possesses, I don’t know how else to convince you.
John Corabi in Motley Crue : Hooligans Holiday – 1994
John Corabi was born April 26, 1959 in Philadelphia. His musical projects include Angora, The Scream, Mötley Crüe, Union and ESP (both with former Kiss lead guitarist Bruce Kulick), Ratt (as a guitarist), Twenty 4 Seven (with his then Ratt bandmate Bobby Blotzer), Zen Lunatic, Brides of Destruction, and Angel City Outlaws (with his then Ratt bandmates Robbie Crane and Bobby Blotzer, and former Ratt guitarist Keri Kelli, who he replaced in Ratt). He is the current lead singer for The Dead Daisies.
Fun fact: John’s favorite playlist is a cool collection of tunes he made for parties at his house – it’s a complete 70’s list featuring Grand Funk, Aerosmith, and Humble Pie.
