The evolution of hard rock and heavy metal takes another step forward with the formation of Brides of Destruction. The new quartet — featuring bassist Nikki Sixx, guitarist Tracii Guns, drummer Scot Coogan and vocalist London LeGrand — has signed with Sanctuary Records. Here Come the Brides, the band’s debut album, is scheduled for North American release on March 9, 2004.
Brides of Destruction signed a three-album deal with Sanctuary through Sixx’s company 12-11 Productions. The nine songs on Here Come the Brides include: Shut the F**k Up, I Don’t Care, I Got a Gun, 2 X Dead, Brace Yourself, Natural Born Killers, Life, Revolution and Only Get So Far.
Here Come the Brides was produced by Steve Bruno and mixed by Steve Thompson, known for his production work with Metallica, Guns N Roses and Korn. Drummer Kris Kohls, a member of Adema, plays on half of Here Come the Brides. Shut the F**k Up has been used in a skateboard video shot by Drew Stone of Stone Films. The talent and past success the members of Brides of Destruction bring with them to this band is a cause for celebration in the world of heavy rock.
Sixx was the founding member and primary songwriting force behind Motley Crue, the most successful hard rock band of the 1980s. After bursting out of and then dominating the Los Angeles hard rock and heavy metal scene that exploded more than 20 years ago, Sixx and Motley Crue have sold more than 40 million copies of landmark albums such as Shout at the Devil, Theatre of Pain, Girls, Girls, Girls and Dr. Feelgood. Their wild, decadent, rock-star lifestyle became legendary — shaming all previous, supposed masters of excess.
Guns shot to fame with his band L.A. Guns. The band’s 11 albums have sold more than 6 million copies worldwide. Their biggest hit single was The Ballad of Jayne. Guns was a founding member of Guns N Roses but left and was replaced by childhood friend Slash. He has worked with the likes of Motorhead, Johnny Thunders and the Misfits, and he co-founded the supergroup Contraband with UFO guitarist Michael Schenker. Guns skills and diversity has led to a great deal of work as a session guitarist in LA.
Coogan, after hitting some dead ends, got his big break when he landed the gig as the touring drummer for the boy band All 4 One. He also became an in-demand session player and touring drummer for other artists. Coogan has played with Pete Yorn, Sinead O Connor and Otep to name a few. Guns saw him play and after an electrifying studio jam, he was hired on the spot.
LeGrand is a total unknown, but he is obviously something special to hold his own with Sixx, Guns and Coogan. His restless, vagabond background and frustrating music experiences in Georgia ultimately led to a move to LA where he met Sixx and Guns. He won’t be anonymous for much longer as the frontman for Brides of Destruction, which Sixx calls a band of underdogs.
Brides of Destruction plays Rock N Roll the way it was meant to be played: sweaty, sticky, sleazy and savage. The universe has now been sufficiently warned. Watch out, because Here Come the Brides!

Brides of Destruction bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following message on B.O.D.’s official web site:
Nothing much to update except we’re on a mission from hell to write a double album. If it happens, fine..if not… Well, we’re gonna have a fuckload of music to choose from for the next album. Of course, our first album isn’t even out yet (March 9), but if you’re gonna take a stab at an epic masterpiece… you better get a running start…
Fuck the naysayers..
Rock n roll will destroy the world… .

Brides of Destruction guitarist Tracii Guns has issued the following update on the band’s activities:
We had our European press day today, All the band members were present, we covered seven European territories. We just basically talked about everything from our past to our future and how great our fans are considering we have only played twice and our first record doesn’t come out for another month. We also talked about our touring options and it looks like we will be covering some serious ground in the next eight months with some fucking killer bands that we will name when everything is confirmed.
We got too proof our MTV ad… it’s only 30 seconds but it is pretty brutal and to the point.
After a full day of press, Nikki and I went to go look at the Brides of Destruction billboard that was put up on the front of the Rainbow yesterday (looks great).
We will be shooting the performance part of the Shut The Fuck Up video this coming Monday. Jimmy Kimmel show is now going to be on Thursday, March 11th. The Tower Records on Sunset will have us doing an in-store and live performance on the 10th. It will be sometime in the evening after Nikki’s taping for Jimmy Kimmel that night.
The Sanctuary street team has been kicking ass getting the word out on the record release.
We start rehearsals on February 23rd so… IT’s TIME TO START THIS BASTARD ROLLIN!!!

Here’s an update from Nikki:
All things new were done once before. As I sit here putting together the set list for the BRIDES tour, I’m feeling excited and guilty. I’ve been home for four years now and I’ve grown roots. I’m excited about touring and I’m excited about the unknown. But I’ve had to bridge the conversation with my kids and wife about being gone. My son (Gunner) asked me How long? I said, I don’t know. It could be a couple months or it could be longer. It’s up to the fans. It’s part of the unknown.
I’ve spent most of my life on the road and my wife understands that it’s a huge part of who I am… In fact, it was her who told me its time to go do this… God bless her..
All things old are new once again. So we go into rehearsal this week… . We’re getting the set together, the amps and guitars tuned up (cleaned up even)… .cleaning up is dirty work…
As far as songs live… We will play the whole album live (duh)… plus we have unreleased BRIDES songs were gonna play too… we took it to heart what you all wanna hear from (the GUNS and CR E era) and it seems that its your wish for us to play old stuff.. not even the hits… so we’re gonna work up a bunch of songs and see how it sounds.. Thanks for your input…
Who’s on first? We have to make a decision on who’s our support. There’s a lot of new blood out there and some of these bands are in fucking sane…
Brides of Destruction will play a special gig at CBGB in New York City on May 5. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. and tickets are priced at $17.50 via Ticketweb.
Nikki Sixx: Well, somehow we all got our wires crossed. The CBGB’s gig was supposed to be unannounced… It’s such a classic little Rock N Roll dive. I always wanted to play it. But more for (the history) and the fun than a real gig… Oops… Well, it looks like we’re all gonna have a sweaty fun time in NYC…

Yes, they have a few new members and are working on their second album. They’ve added a second guitarist, Ginger (The Widhearts) and bassist Scott Sorry (ex-Amen).
aw I missed them on Jay Leno, does anyone out there have a video clip of their performance??? Please let me know. Thanks! – said lugnut on Mar 03, 2004
I think its the Late Late show with Craig Kilborn that you are referring to… but thanks for the reminder!! – said lugnut on Mar 03, 2004
I watched the Brides on Leno, and I Tivo’s it..sorry can’t make copies 😉 It wasn’t a bad performance, but it wasn’t that great. I think I read today from Nikki or Tracii, that even they said it was a little off. They had the bout of nerves. And I know Tracii had cancelled some recent things because he had the flu, and was probably still out of it that night. Also, they performed Shut The F*ck Up, which is the most different track on the CD. That song sounds more punk than anything. I think it was a bad choice as the first single. The rest of the album I think is alot different than that one song. I like the CD… really good work on it. – said theloudestrock on Mar 03, 2004

I ll be at the detroit show for sure!!!! lets us know how it went. – said PAUZED on Mar 03, 2004
Sweet… .looks like I better get out buy that new video camera that I’ve been putting off. Thanks for sharing that info!!! – said lugnut on Apr 04, 2004
Thats going to be pretty cool! To allow cameras in! I checked to see if they meant camera or video, but they don’t say. I always thought it was a good idea to let fans in with cameras. Maybe not like paparazzi lens but a camera that a fan can use to remember their night at a concert! I should be at the Starlnad Ballroom show in Sayreville NJ… anyone here going to be at that show? Also this show is being hosted by The Tour Bus which is a radio show played weekly. It is their 5th anniversary and this show is the celebration of that show. – said theloudestrock on Apr 04, 2004
Brides are still together, with a new bass player. Is this correct? – said DavidJ on Feb 02, 2005
