On Saturday, September 10 members of the music industry will lend their time and talent at a benefit concert for Lissa Wales, an outstanding and devoted freelance photographer who lives in Arizona. For the past two years, Lissa has battled acute myelogenous leukemia and most recently went through a bone marrow transplant.
The show, which will take place at Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, will find some of the finest drummers in the industry coming together for one very special night of entertainment to support Lissa as she continues her battle with Leukemia.
With Troy Luccketta from Tesla taking the reigns and calling drummer friends of Lissa’s, the line-up has become a diverse musical event. An eclectic group of drummers have committed to performing include Denny Seiwell (Paul McCartney), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Danny Seraphine (original drummer for Chicago), Billy Ashbaugh (NSYNC), Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge/Rod Stewart), Jimmy Degrasso (ex-Megadeth), Dom Moio (Cinco De Moio) Ken Mary (House of Lords) and Dom Famularo (World Educator).
Performing with and alongside these talented drummers include Jerry Riopelle, Ronnie Montrose with David Elefson and Jimmy DeGrasso, an acoustic performance with Jeff Keith and Frank Hannon from Tesla, Cinco de Moio featuring Dom Moio, Brandon Reid Allen (nominated for Breakout Artist of the year at the 2005 Christian Music Awards), Glen Hughes (Deep Purple) and Savile Row featuring Marc Bonilla and Troy Luccketta. Supporting several on the drummers will be the House Band featuring Mic Mahan (Pat Benatar) on bass, Dave Henzerling on guitar, Marc Bonilla on guitar and Ed Roth (Rob Halford) on keyboards.
This debilitating illness has left Lissa with the inability to work and facing a growing mound of bills and expenses. With a recovery period that is expected to take up to a year, her friends and business associates have come together, along with the support of music lovers in Arizona, to help ease some of these costs.
Tickets priced at $30.00 and $20.00 will go on-sale at 10am on Monday, August 15 at the Celebrity Theatre Box Office, www.eveningstarproductions.com, www.celebritytheatre.com, or to charge by phone, call 602.267.1600. All dates, acts, and ticket prices are subject to change without notice. All tickets are subject to applicable taxes, and service and handling charges.
All proceeds from the concert will go to Lissa Wales to help pay expenses, medical and otherwise. If you are unable to attend the concert and wish to donate, you can do so through an account that has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank, account #7140221818.
